1978 is an initiative created by third year Contemporary Art Practice student Jason Molyneux, who's aim is to promote an interactive thread of creativity throughout Universities and art institutions across the United Kingdom.

Influenced by cultural anthropology and the notion of public engagement within an interactive space, 1978 challenges our perception of the standard moral values of an exhibition enviroment.

Jason's multidisciplinary approach to curation has allowed for a more diverse representation of the modern day exhibition, and his sole purpose - to create a dialogue of contemporary art, music, fashion and performance through various art mediums.

Over the course of a year, Jason has curated two major exhibitions in association with Manchester Fashion Week. Based in Manchester's Northern Quarter, the exhibitions have thematically focused on the idea of the cities "cultural aesthetic", whilst highlighting upcoming musical talent in Manchester, and equally as important, the creative practice of soon to be art graduates.
